Sophie- The Story of Pain and Abandonment
Sophie was confused sitting by herself in an unknown area, not knowing why her family whom she loved so dearly weren’t to be seen. She was abandoned in a park simply because her skin condition made her less desirable, and apparently less of a ‘Grate Dane’.
She was suffering from severe Mange, a skin condition that had left thick crusts on her face with painful puss and blood oozing all over her face. There was hardly an inch on her face where there was no puss and blood. She also had a calcium deficiency which made her bones weak.

Now, after a lot of help, Sophie is free from Mange and the sight of her clear face brings us pure joy because she really did suffer in pain before — with all the puss. She doesn’t realize the kind of effect she has on our staff and other dogs around her. Sophie comes running to us, where ever we are, and buries her face in our hands — like one adorable baby. She also acts as an elder sister to all the dogs that are undergoing treatment and shows affection in her doggo way. We still can’t fathom how someone could ever think of abandoning this sweetheart who has nothing but love to give! We hope to make her feel as loved as she makes us feel!
