Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and creative Social Media Executive to join our team. The Social Media Executive will be responsible for managing our organization’s social media presence and engaging with our online community to promote our mission, programs, and events. This role requires a passion for animal welfare, strong communication skills, and a knack for creating compelling content.
Responsibilities:
Social Media Management
- Manage and maintain our organization’s presence on social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
- Create and curate engaging content, including posts, graphics, photos, videos, and stories, to showcase shelter animals, success stories, events, and fundraising initiatives.
- Schedule and publish content according to a content calendar, ensuring consistent posting and brand messaging across platforms.
Community Engagement
- Monitor social media channels for emails, comments, messages, and mentions, and respond promptly and professionally to inquiries, comments, and messages from followers and supporters.
- Foster positive interactions and build relationships with followers, supporters, and influencers within the animal welfare community.
- Developing email marketing campaigns via MailChimp aimed at fundraising and maintaining engagement with our organization’s donors.
- Host a pet food carnival at the shelter every 15 days, inviting volunteers and donors through Instagram and Facebook posts, as well as postings in relevant Facebook groups.
- Hosting monthly live video calls through Mailchimp to showcase the shelter, alongside regular posts, stories, and reels on Facebook or Instagram.
Content Creation
- Collaborate with the marketing team, volunteers, and community partners to source content ideas and user-generated content.
- Develop creative concepts and campaigns to drive engagement, increase followers, and promote passive adoption, donations, and volunteer opportunities.
- Crafting narratives of successful animal rescues and rehabilitation journeys, illustrating the transformative journey from rescue to recovery through captivating blogs and stories featured on our website.
Analytics and Reporting
- Monitor social media analytics using platforms like Facebook Insights, Twitter Analytics, and Instagram Insights to track performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare regular reports summarizing key metrics, trends, and insights to inform decision-making and strategy refinement.
Campaign Support
- Assist in the planning and execution of social media campaigns, contests, and fundraising drives to increase awareness, donations, and volunteer participation.
- Track campaign performance metrics and provide support in adjusting strategies to optimize results.
Trend Monitoring
- Stay updated on social media trends, best practices, and emerging platforms to inform content strategies and stay ahead of the curve.
- Being aware of current cultural circumstances, to avoid offence or insensitivity
Compliances
- Monitor social media platforms and channels to identify and assess compliance risks, such as misleading or inappropriate content, data privacy breaches, and copyright infringement.
- Review and approve social media content, including posts, advertisements, and promotions, to ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide training and guidance to social media staff on compliance best practices, including proper disclosure of sponsored content, data protection measures, and copyright laws.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in social media regulations and industry standards, and communicate relevant updates to the organization.
- Prepare and maintain documentation, reports, and records related to social media compliance efforts for internal and external reporting purposes.
Knowledge of:
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Email, presentation software etc.
- Familiarity with typical office protocols, methods, and equipment.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and adherence to safe working procedures.
- Skill in maintaining precise record-keeping.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred.
- Certifications in Social Media Management, Digital Marketing etc. will be added advantage
Required Background, Experience and Skills:
- Total 2+ years of experience in social media management or digital marketing.
- 2+ years of experience in analyzing social media metrics and using insights to optimize content performance and drive engagement.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and trends.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to create engaging and impactful content.
- Experience in community management, including responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Proficiency in graphic design and video editing tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
- Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer) and analytics platforms.
- Be well-versed in Online Reputation Management (ORM) & Social Media Optimisation (SMO) strategies.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-centric approach to community engagement.
- Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative ideas and campaigns.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights.
