Overview:

You will collaborate closely with organizations to address complex business challenges, drive performance improvements, and foster growth. Your role will involve providing strategic advice, conducting thorough analysis, and delivering actionable recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and achieve key objectives. Leveraging your strong analytical skills and industry expertise, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the board of directors through strategic planning processes, optimizing operations, and maximizing impact. Effective communication with stakeholders at all levels will be essential as you work to align strategies with organizational goals and drive positive outcomes. Your expertise will contribute to maximizing the NGO’s impact on its target beneficiaries and achieving its mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning- Collaborate with NGO leadership to develop and refine organizational strategies aligned with the mission and vision. Conduct SWOT analysis, identify key priorities, and formulate actionable plans to achieve long-term goals.
  • Operational Improvement- Assess current organizational structures, processes, and workflows to identify areas for improvement. Implement strategies to streamline operations, optimize resource allocation, and enhance overall efficiency. Interview organization employees and observe what is going on in the organization to understand what kind of changes to employees, equipment, and methods are needed.
  • Financial Management- Provide guidance on financial planning, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure fiscal responsibility and sustainability. Analyze financial data, identify trends, and make recommendations to maximize financial resources and mitigate risks.
  • Program Evaluation- Design and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess the impact of programs and initiatives. Collect and analyze data to measure outcomes, identify successes, and address areas for improvement.
  • Capacity Building- Develop and deliver training programs to build the capacity of NGO staff and board of directors in areas such as project management, leadership, and organizational development.
  • Partnership Development- Identify potential funding opportunities, strategic partnerships, and collaboration opportunities with other organizations, governments and to support the mission and objectives.
  • Compliance and Risk Management- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and standards governing NGO operations. Develop risk management strategies to identify and mitigate potential risks to the organization’s reputation and operations. Develop policies and procedures related to the development and support of new and ongoing systems.
  • Communication and Reporting- Prepare and present reports, presentations, and other communication materials to donors, and the board of directors. Communicate progress, achievements, and challenges effectively to ensure transparency and accountability.

Performing other related duties as required to support the operation of the animal shelter and the welfare of its residents.

Knowledge of:

  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office, analytical tools, presentation software, etc.
  • Familiarity with typical office protocols, methods, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and adherence to safe working procedures.
  • Skill in maintaining precise record-keeping.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business administration, Management, International Development, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Certifications in Management Consultant, Business Administration etc. will be added advantage.

Required Background, Experience and Skills:

  • Total 8+ years of experience in management consulting, preferably within the international development context.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) – Demonstrated ability to develop comprehensive SOPs for various organization scenarios, ensuring efficiency, safety, and legality.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and develop innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrated project management experience, including planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation methodologies, financial management principles, and fundraising strategies.
